"JPG to PNG – Simple Image Converter" ("the extension") is a browser extension that converts JPG and JPEG images to PNG format. This privacy policy explains what data the extension does and does not access, use, or store.

Data We Collect

The extension does not collect any personal data. Specifically, it does not collect, transmit, or have access to:

• Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
• Health information
• Financial or payment information
• Authentication information (passwords, PINs, security questions)
• Personal communications (emails, messages, chats)

• Web browsing history
• User activity (clicks, keystrokes, mouse movement, network monitoring)

How Image Conversion Works

When you select or drag and drop a JPG/JPEG image into the extension, the image is processed entirely within your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. The image:

• Is never uploaded to any server
• Is never transmitted over the network
• Is never stored, logged, or shared with the developer or any third party
• Exists only temporarily in your browser's memory during the conversion

Once you close the extension popup, no trace of the image or its contents remains.

Local Settings Storage

The extension uses the browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to remember two simple settings on your device:

• Your selected theme preference (Light, Dark, or System)
• Whether you have dismissed the optional "rate this extension" prompt

This information is stored only on your local device, is never transmitted anywhere, and contains no personal information.

Permissions

The extension requests only the storage permission, used exclusively for the local settings described above. The extension does not request access to your tabs, browsing activity, host websites, or any other browser data.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any data with third parties. The extension contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code of any kind.

Children's Privacy

The extension does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this same URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
